Do You Have a Business Bestie?
When you join any community, there is an opportunity for you to find people to work with. You may find a super-affiliate to promote your products or a content writer who wants to ghostwrite content, or you may even find a person who sells complementary products to the same audience with whom you can collaborate to help you come up with better self-promotional content.
That’s one of the best aspects of joining a community and participating in it. The people you meet may end up being some of the most important people in your life and your business!
Hold Each Other Accountable
When you meet someone in a group who you can work with as an accountability partner, it’s important to really stick to it and truly hold enough other accountable. Set up a plan of how to do it and don’t take excuses from each other. Yes, life happens – but if you don’t take action in your business, that won’t be happening.
Write Each Other’s Self-Promotional Copy
It can be very uncomfortable and feel unnatural for some people to write their own self-promotional copy. Trade information and write each other’s copy instead. You can both feel free to edit it after the other person writes it to perfect it, but it will get you started and often turn out better with the second set of eyes.
Write the Other’s Bio
Another thing you can do for each other is to write each other’s bios. Write some long ones and short ones. You’ll need bios for every social platform, your website, and when you guest blog post or write an article that is published in a magazine.
Interview Each Other on Video
A really fun way to collect information as well as create content so that you can help each other with the promotion is to interview each other. You can record the interview on video or just audio if you want. It can become marketing material via a transcript or by cutting the video to use in various promotions.
Write the Forwards in Each Other’s Books
One way to prove expertise is to write a book. Today, it’s easy to do that via self-publishing on Kindle. You can make the book perform even better for you by asking someone to write the forward who will complement you and show what an expert you are with their words.
Hold Live (online) Working Sessions
One way to stay motivated is to work side-by-side with someone else looking over your shoulder. You can use live technology to do this using either Facebook Live or something like Zoom to broadcast your working sessions with each other. Then you can work together and have someone to bounce ideas off at the same time.
Share Project Management to Get More Accountability
Another way to provide accountability to your buddy is to use the same project management system so that you can each see the other marketing off their tasks each day. Not getting something done by a particular time that you agreed upon triggers the other to reach out to find out why things aren’t getting done. Knowing someone is checking can motivate.
In addition, set goals and hold each other accountable to do something each week to toot your own horn and toot each other’s horns. You’ll be glad you did because the more positivity that shows up about you and your business online, the more visitors you’ll get to your site and the more sales you’ll make.
