If you are shy or introverted and are having issues tooting your own horn, keep reminding yourself how you can help other people with the knowledge that you have.
For introverted and/or shy people, they can often put out of their minds their own issues when they’re thinking about other people.
Be a Helper – When you realize that you have a skill that can help others, looking around to find those who need your help will help remove your nerves about yourself because when you’re helping, you’re not thinking of yourself.
Don’t Be Selfish – What if keeping what you know to yourself was selfish? You have knowledge of something that others need! Is keeping it to yourself due to your discomfort really fair to those who need this knowledge?
Don’t Announce Your Issue – When you are shy, or an introvert, don’t tell everyone. When you give your issues a label, you only give them more power. Instead, focus on the positive aspects of your personality and let go of anything you deem negative.
Don’t Sabotage Yourself – It’s easy to let negative self-talk get in the way of your future if you let it. Instead, avoid self-sabotage by accepting what you’re good at, learning more about what you’re lacking, and find help when you can.
Know Your Strengths – When you feel unsure about anything, instead of placing any focus on your weaknesses, place focus on your strengths. That way you can tell yourself what you’re good at when you’re feeling less than confident instead of telling yourself anything bad.
Facts Not Embellishments – When you do say anything good about yourself or your business, ensure it’s based on facts. That way you never have to feel bad about anything good you say about yourself or your business because it’s all real. When it’s true, it’s a lot easier to say and easier for your audience to accept it, too.
Take Credit for Your Successes – When you do something helpful and good for anyone, it’s okay to take credit for your successes. Why would you not? The more you can take credit for good things, the more your reputation will exceed you.
Give Praise & Accept Praise – One way to get used to giving yourself praise or receiving praise is to praise others. Ensure that the compliments you provide to people are true and not overblown but do lavish praise on others who deserve it. It’s going to make it that much easier for you to take and accept compliments.
By placing your focus on others, you can get back your self-confidence because you’re focused on results. You’re focused on helping them get results. You’re focused on giving them access to a fabulous and effective product or service instead of focusing on how much money you’ll make in the process. When you do that, it feels good to be good at something.
Now, why don't you share one of your strengths as a commentary to give it even more power and give you wings!
My own favorite strength of all is my creativity. What's yours?
